Man dies while stricken behind wheel, crashing car

A 58-year-old Roselle man died after a medical condition caused him to strike a gate and a tree while driving his car at Cosman Road and Winston Drive at the edge of Busse Woods in Elk Grove Village, police said.

Ralph Arbolea was driving a 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo when the crash occured about 8:40 a.m. Thursday. He was pronounced dead later that afternoon at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village.

Police would not say what medical condition the man suffered from.
