Jarmon's knee injury makes him 8th Redskin on IR
ASHBURN, Va. -- Jeremy Jarmon is the eighth Washington Redskins player to go on injured reserve this season -- and Chris Cooley could be No. 9.
Defensive end Jarmon tore the ACL in his left knee in Sunday's 27-24 loss to Philadelphia, ending the rookie season for the supplemental draft pick from Kentucky. Jarmon played in all 11 games and had nine tackles with one forced fumble.
Coach Jim Zorn said Monday that Cooley is likely done for the year. The two-time Pro Bowl tight end broke his right ankle on Oct. 26, and his recovery has been slower than expected.
The Redskins already have five players on IR who have started at least two games this season.
Clinton Portis will miss his fourth straight game with a concussion when the Redskins host New Orleans this week.
