Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble celebrates 20th with 'The Nutcracker'

Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble will present its 15th annual production of "The Nutcracker" Dec. 4, 5 and 6 at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St., Barrington.

This year's cast will feature returning guest artists Roman Antonov, Melanie Hortin, Holly Pace, Ricky Ruiz, Buddy King, Karen Janet, Valerie Murray and Jessica Wolfrum.

Monique Haley will reprise her role as the evil Mouse Queen and Hiroko Sakakibara will return as the beautiful Sugar Plum Fairy with her Cavalier, Guillermo Leyva.

Making their BYDE debuts are Christian Denice as Spanish Chocolate; Michael Gross as Arabian Coffee; Nicole Larson and Abdelazis Roque as the Snow Queen and King; and Vilma Machin as the Dew Drop Fairy.

BYDE is celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2009 and is welcoming back several BYDE alumnae: Megan Brennan, Katelyn Hanna, Stephanie Schwartz and Stephanie Cihlar, who will join the cast.
