Insurance, health costs out of control
I am 56 years old and was laid off from a job after 31 years of service. I have been unemployed for two years now.
I did activate a meager pension this year which is used to pay for may mortgage and for my medical insurance. I had hoped that I could take a part-time job and wait to permanently retire at 60, but the escalating cost of health insurance is going to prevent that. I was paying $800 a month for just my wife and myself. I got a note today from my insurance that it goes up another $100 per month in January It just keeps climbing with no limit.
I know I am better off than many others but this has to stop. We all need affordable health care. Please help us.
