Barrington
• Robert A. Rodriguez, 39, of the 100 block of South Plum Grove Road, Palatine, was arrested around noon Nov. 5 at his home and charged with felony retail theft. Reports said he admitted stealing over-the-counter medications and asthma inhalers, value estimated at $730, from Walgreens, 189 W. Northwest Hwy., around 1:15 p.m. Nov. 4, to support a heroin habit. He was videotaped cutting open the packages, hiding the drugs in his clothes and placing the empty boxes back on the shelf. He also admitted stealing medicines from a CVS pharmacy at Northwest Highway and Lake-Cook Road in Barrington just before entering the Walgreens, and then stealing items from a CVS pharmacy in Fox River Grove, reports said.
• Burglars broke into a 2002 Ford Expedition in a student parking lot at Barrington High School, 616 W. Main St., between 10:59 and 11:28 a.m. Nov. 10 and stole an amplifier and speakers, value estimated at $3,000. This is the second time in two years someone has burglarized the vehicle.
• Thieves stole the bed extender and damaged the Fiberglas bed liner on a 2010 Ford Explorer at Wickstrom Ford, 600 W. Northwest Hwy., on an unknown date but discovered Nov. 6. Loss was estimated at $5,000.
• Thieves broke the locks on newspaper machines outside the Metra depot, 201 Spring St., Nov. 13 or 14 and stole coins from the cash boxes.
•Thieves stole a cell phone from a female student at Barrington's Station Middle School, 215 Eastern Ave., Nov. 5 or 6.
Bartlett
• Dimitri T. Williams, 17, of the 300 block of Donna Court, Barlett, and Derrick Brown-Smith, 17, of the 0-100 block of West Oakley Drive, Westmont, were arrested on the 100 block of East Lake Street around 1:10 a.m. Nov. 10 and charged with local ordinance minor consumption of alcohol. Brown-Smith also was charged with retail theft. Their court date is Dec. 22.
• Alexander Svoboda, 17, of the 800 block of Faith Lane, Bartlett, was arrested on the 100 block of Sherman Street and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. His court date is Dec. 1.
• Martin Krukowski, 35, of the 1900 block of Golf View Drive, Bartlett, was arrested around 4:15 p.m. Nov. 11 at his home and charged with local ordinance dog running at large. His court date is Dec. 22.
• Mirella Nerada, 36, of the 200 block of Moorehead Drive, Bartlett, was arrested around 2:20 a.m. Nov. 7 at 1175 W. Lake St. and charged with assault. Her court date is Dec. 10.
• Kristen Hoster, 17, of the 100 block of Amherst Drive, Bartlett, was arrested around 7:20 p.m. Nov. 6 at 1041 W. Stearns Road and charged with retail theft and possession of alcohol by a minor. Her court date is Dec. 22.
• Thieves stole a cell phone valued at $219 out of a customer's purse at Jewel-Osco, 125 E. Stearns Road, around 3:50 p.m. Nov. 6.
Hoffman Estates
• Mathew J. McNames, 28, of the 1300 block of Yellowstone Parkway, Algonquin, was arrested around 1:30 a.m. Nov. 11 at routes 59 and 72 and charged with traffic violations, aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, and illegal transportation of open alcohol. His court date is Dec. 2.
• Isidro Rocha-Gallardo, 27, of the 1000 block of Knoll Lane, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 5:45 p.m. Nov. 9 on the 1000 block of Meadow Lane and charged with interference with a public utility and criminal damage to property. Reports said he damaged a Comcast cable box and diverted a cable line. His court date is Dec. 7.
• Keith L. Forbes, 52, of the 100 block of Memory Lane, Carpentersville, was arrested around 12:25 a.m. Nov. 16 on Route 58 near Barrington Road and charged with traffic violations, driving under the influence of alcohol, and possession of a controlled substance. His court date is Dec. 19.
• Steven Gavina, 20, of the 500 block of Jefferson Avenue, Elgin, was arrested around 11 a.m. Nov. 10 at Golf and Fairmont roads and charged with traffic violations and possession of marijuana. His court date is Dec. 31.
• A man stole four bottles of whiskey valued at $116 from Dominick's, 2575 W. Golf Road, around 3 p.m. Nov. 10 but dropped the bottles in the parking lot when a security agent stopped him. He fled in a red Ford Explorer.
• Burglars broke into a 2000 Chevrolet Impala and stole a purse valued at $80 and tried to break into a 2004 Lincoln Navigator between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Willow Recreation Center, 3600 Lexington Drive.
• Burglars broke into a 2005 Cadillac Escalade and 2000 Nissan Pathfinder in the same lot at Blackhawk Park, 1665 Higgins Road, between 6:30 and 9:40 p.m. Nov. 9 and stole a purse out of each vehicle, while the two victims were watching a hockey game.
• A man stole a wallet valued at $50 out of a female employee's purse in a salon on the 3000 block of North Barrington Road around 3:30 p.m. Nov. 10 while his female accomplice had the employee work on her fingernails.
Palatine
• Thieves stole a yellow skid steer mover valued at $20,000 from a job site on the 1400 block of West Northwest Highway between Oct. 29 and Nov. 6.
• Thieves stole the front end bucket valued at $2,500 from a Bobcat mover at a business on the 2200 block of North Rand Road between Oct. 31 and Nov. 9.
• Burglars pried the front door at a home on the 300 block of South Lancelot Lane between 2 p.m. Nov. 6 and 3:30 p.m. Nov. 8, ransacked a bedroom and stole a jewelry box with miscellaneous jewelry valued at $100.
• Burglars stole a wallet and two cell phones out of an unlocked 1995 Lexus sedan on the 1400 block of East Palatine Road between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Nov. 3. Value was estimated at $900.
• Burglars broke into a 2005 Honda CR-V in a business lot at 545 S. Consumers Ave. between noon and 12:19 p.m. Nov. 9 and stole a leather wallet valued at $185.
Schaumburg
• Edward S. Gonzalez, 42, of the 1900 block of Evening Song Court, Schaumburg, was arrested around 8:45 p.m. Nov. 6 at his apartment and charged with criminal damage to property, battery to a police officer and resisting a peace officer. Reports said he broke several doors in the apartment after learning that he was being evicted, then struggled during the arrest. His court date is Dec. 18.
• James H. Chin, 44, of the 2300 block of West Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 9:15 a.m. Nov. 4 and charged with assault. Reports said Chin, a cook at the Radisson Hotel, 1725 E. Algonquin Road, threatened another cook with a vase during an argument. His court date is Dec. 17.
• Alexandra C. Kahan, 18, of the 700 block of North Hundley Street, Hoffman Estates, was arrested around 3:40 a.m. Nov. 7 on Braintree at Cambridge and charged with traffic violations, driving under the influence, battery, resisting a peace officer and transportation of open liquor. Her court date is Dec. 17.
• Jonathan B. Presz, 23, of the 1500 block of Seven Pines, Schaumburg, was arrested around 3:20 p.m. Nov. 7 at Dominick's, 1293 E. Higgins Road, and charged with two counts retail theft. His court date is Dec. 2.
• Two men were seen on a security videotape stealing a snowblower, lawn mower, large spool of copper wire and a spool of tin from a fenced area at a business on the 1000 block of Lunt Avenue around 10:50 a.m. Nov. 1. They loaded the items into a pickup truck and drove away. Value was estimated at $7,300.
• Gia N. Payton, 36, of the 1500 block of Augusta Lane, Cary, was arrested around 8:45 a.m. Nov. 6 in Crystal Lake, and charged with forgery. Reports said she cashed a fraudulent check for $4,200 Sept. 16. at National City Bank, 2425 W. Schaumburg Road. Her court date is Dec. 1.
• Anthony R. Cabic, 30, of the 1100 block of North Plum Grove Road, Schaumburg, was arrested around 7 p.m. Nov. 10 at Dominick's, 1293 E. Higgins Road, and charged with retail theft. His court date is Dec. 15.
• Ronson D. Lumpkin, 30, of the 1800 block of Dumont Lane, Schaumburg, was arrested around 11:45 p.m. Nov. 9 in a car parked in an apartment lot on the 100 block of Pickwick Drive and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia (marijuana cigarette). His court date is Nov. 25.
• Christopher D. Jankovic, 20, of the 600 block of Pleasant Place, Streamwood, was arrested around 2:30 a.m. Nov. 9 at a home on the 1300 block of Wakeby and charged with battery and unlawful consumption of alcohol by a minor. Reports said he choked a 15-year-old boy in the home after the boy threatened to dump Janokovic's drink if he didn't stop making fun of him. A court date is Dec. 17.
• Dhiren N. Patel, 22, of the 300 block of Bianco Drive, Elk Grove Village, was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 at Old Navy, 1498 E. Golf Road, and charged with theft. Reports said he admitted stealing a $100 gift check from the safe and giving it to his girlfriend. His court date is Dec. 28.
• Kerime Memedovska, 25, of the 9800 block of Lawrence Court, Schiller Park, was arrested around 6:55 p.m. Nov. 11 at J.C. Penney in Woodfield Mall and charged with retail theft. Her court date is Dec. 22.
• Eleazar Esparza, 37, of the 18400 block of Millennium Drive, Tinley Park, was arrested around 2:20 p.m. Nov. 12 at a work site on the 0-100 block of Ascot Circle and charged with battery. Reports said he punched a co-worker in the face. His court date is Jan. 4.
Arlington Heights
• Gidget A. Pirker, 41, of the 600 block of Territorial Drive, Benton Harbor, Mich., was arrested around 11:20 a.m. Nov. 11 in a guest room at a hotel on the 0-100 block of West Algonquin Road and charged with felony prostitution after an undercover officer answered an ad on a Web site. Her court date is Dec. 22. She was convicted of prostitution in October and received the felony charge because she is a repeat offender, reports said.
• Thieves stole a silver 2006 Mercury Mountaineer SUV valued at $23,000 from Roto Lincoln Mercury, 1555 E. Rand Road, between 8 a.m. Nov. 2 and 4 p.m. Nov. 6.
• Vandals used black paint to spray graffiti on a storage trailer at Church Creek retirement community, 1250 W. Central Road, between 3:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10 a.m. Nov. 10.
• Vandals put three deep 2-foot-long scratches in the rear driver's-side fender on a 2001 Pontiac Bonneville on the 200 block of West Tanglewood Drive between 1:30 and 4 p.m. Nov. 10.
• Vandals put glue in all key holes on a 1996 Plymouth Voyager on the 2100 block of East Park Street between 6 p.m. Nov. 8 and 10 a.m. Nov. 10. Damage was estimated at $50.
• Vandals slashed two passenger's-side tires on a 2009 Chevrolet Impala in a driveway on the 1300 block of Best Drive between 6 p.m. Nov. 8 and 8 a.m. Nov 9. During the same time, vandals slashed the rear driver's-side tire on a 2006 Chrysler 300 on the 3100 block of North Stratford; damage was estimated at $150.
• Burglars broke into a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer in a Metra lot at 2121 W. Northwest Hwy. between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. Nov. 10 and stole a radar detector valued at $500.
• Thieves stole two blowers valued at $200 out of a landscape trailer parked at Noyes Street and Belmont between 3:08 and 3:10 p.m. Nov. 12, while the victim was doing yard work at a home.
• Vandals cut and destroyed a Christian Liberty Academy sign at the corner of Walnut and Euclid Avenue between 11 p.m. Nov. 12 and 7 a.m. Nov. 13. Damage was estimated at $150.
• A vandal hurled a chunk of concrete that broke the passenger's-side plastic door handle on a 2006 Ford tow truck in an apartment lot on the 2200 block of Goebbert Road around 1:20 a.m. Nov. 14, while the driver was checking cars in the lot for valid parking permits.
• Burglars stole a flat screen TV valued at $4,000 from an office wall at a research and development firm at 64 W. Seegers Road between 6 p.m. Nov. 11 and 7:30 a.m. Nov. 12.
• Burglars pried a rear door at a home on the 4100 block of North Terramere Avenue between noon Nov. 9 and 1 p.m. Nov. 15 and ransacked the house.
Des Plaines
• Jeffrey C. Skinner, 34, of the 2000 block of Pine Street, Des Plaines, was arrested around 9:55 p.m. Nov. 8 at his apartment and charged with felony hate crime, theft of service, and aggravated battery. Reports said he took a cab home from a club in Stone Park but told the cabdriver he did not have the $40 fare on him; the money was in his apartment. The cabdriver accompanied Skinner to his apartment, but Skinner swore at him, shouted racial slurs, and pushed the driver, who fell face first onto a concrete landing.
• Jamie L. Schmidt, 24, of the 1900 block of Childs Street, Wheaton, was arrested around 4:35 p.m. Nov. 15 on the 1700 block of South Lee Street and charged with endangering the life of a child, driving under the influence and traffic violations. His 6-year-old son was not in a car seat. His court date is Dec. 15.
• Halina Glowacka, 45, of the 100 block of Dover Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested around 6:25 p.m. Nov. 6 at Walgreens, 1858 E. Oakton St., and charged with unlawful sale of tobacco to a minor. Reports said she sold a pack of cigarettes to an underage undercover agent for the police department. Belinda L. Foreman, 46, of the 500 block of West Ida Court, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 5 p.m. Nov. 6 at Citgo, 800 S. Elmhurst Road, and charged with the same offense.
• Scott J. Skierkiewicz, 19, of the 1400 block of Willow Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested around 6:15 p.m. Nov. 8 on the 300 block of South Graceland Avenue and charged with failure to report change of address as a sex offender.
• Burglars broke into 19 cars in a business lot at 1801 S. Elmhurst Road, between 6 p.m. Nov. 9 and 11:20 a.m. Nov. 10. All vehicles were ransacked but nothing appeared to be missing from 18 of them. Burglars stole a radar detector and cord out of a 1997 Chevrolet Lumina. Damage and loss to all the vehicles was estimated at $9,500.
• Burglars stole a scaling video switcher, two LCD projectors, and two laptop computers out of a warehouse at 50 Rawls Road on an unknown date but reported Nov. 13. Value was estimated at $11,724.
• Burglars broke into a liquor store at 1135 S. Lee St. between 11 p.m. Nov. 11 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 12 and stole lottery tickets and money. Loss was estimated at $3,000.
• Burglars climbed through an open basement window, ransacked rooms and stole two laptop computers valued at $1,400 out of a home on the 1800 block of East Everett Avenue between 1 and 2:40 p.m. Nov. 6.
• Burglars stole a TV, 30 bottles of nail polish, and 10 boxes of nail supply kits from a business at 961 Elmhurst Road between 8 p.m. Nov. 10 and 10 a.m. Nov. 11. Value was estimated at $1,190.
•Kimberly D. Davis, 43, and her daughter, Tychia L. Davis, age unavailable, both of the 1400 block of Emerson, Evanston, were arrested around 6:10 a.m. Nov. 9 at Jewel-Osco, 1500 Lee St., and charged with retail theft of liquor valued at $415. Their court date is Dec. 22.
• Carrie A. Schuler, 25, of the 600 block of Orrington Court, Lake Zurich, was arrested around 2:55 p.m. Nov. 13 at Jewel-Osco, 819 Elmhurst Road, and charged with retail theft of $76 in merchandise. Her court date is Dec. 15.
• Vandals punctured four tires on a 1999 Dodge van belonging to Paramount Staffing, 1441 S. Lee St., between Nov. 6 and 9. Damage was estimated at $400.
• Burglars broke into a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix and 2008 Hyundai SantaFe at two homes on the 400 block of Stratford Road overnight Nov. 12-13 and stole a GPS valued at $300 out of the Pontiac and a cell phone, GPS, and credit cards out of the Hyundai. Someone used one of the credit cards to make purchases in Mount Prospect, Skokie, Wilmette, Evanston, and Niles. Value was estimated at $600.
• Burglars broke into the UPS Store, 1153 Lee St., between 11:30 p.m. Nov. 13 and 6:30 a.m. Nov. 14 and stole money and two Netbooks. Value was estimated at $370.
• Burglars broke into a home on the 900 block of Beau Drive between 2 and 5:50 p.m. Nov. 15 and stole a video-game player, 10 video games, and a book bag. Value was estimated at $900.
Mount Prospect
• Stoyan S. Karamanov, 40, of the 600 block of South Wayne Place, Wheeling, was arrested around 3:45 p.m. Nov. 3 and charged with local ordinance cruelty to animals. Reports said he left a male Rottweiler in his former home on the 100 block of North School Street. The house was under foreclosure and the dog appeared to be abandoned without food or water.
• A thief stole 20 rare coins, a men's diamond wedding ring, and a men's diamond pinkie ring when the male victim moved out of his apartment on the 1900 block of West Algonquin Road around 6:30 a.m. Nov. 13. Value was estimated at $3,300.
• Burglars broke into three vehicles, total damage estimated at $750, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 700 Meier Road, between 4:45 and 5:23 p.m. Nov. 14. Burglars stole a purse valued at $160 out of a 1999 Honda Accord, a purse valued at $210 out of a Nissan Quest, and a purse and digital camera, value estimated at $305, out of a 2008 Toyota Corolla.
• Josue E. Alvarez, 19, and Danielle R. Reinhardt, 18, both of the 1700 block of Myrtle Drive, Mount Prospect, were arrested around 12:05 a.m. Nov. 9 at their home and charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor. Officers were called on noise complaint. Their court date is Dec. 7.
• Nelson Rivas-Solorio, 38, living temporarily in the 300 block of West Algonquin Road, Mount Prospect, was arrested around 3:05 a.m. Nov. 9 at an apartment building on the 1300 block of Sir Galahad Lane and charged with criminal damage to property. Reports said he punched a hole in the wall of a common area of the building. His court date is Dec. 16.
• Burglars broke into a 2004 Toyota Highlander on the 1800 block of Hopi Lane between 9 p.m. Nov. 9 and 3:50 a.m. Nov. 10 and stole a purse and iPod; loss was estimated at $625. During the same time and on the same block, burglars stole an iPod and charger, valued at $335, out of an unlocked 2005 Chevrolet Equinox and a GPS valued at $100 out of an unlocked 2004 Ford Escape.
• Vandals hurled a rock that shattered the rear windshield on a 2000 Cadillac Northstar in a driveway on he 0-100 block of Marcella Road between 5 p.m. Nov. 12 and 3:45 a.m. Nov. 13. Damage was estimated at $1,000.
Wheeling
• Vandals broke a light on the Whippletree Village clubhouse, 525 McHenry Road, around 6:35 p.m. Nov. 10. Damage was estimated at $50.
• Vandals wrote graffiti on the 100 block of Willle Avenue and on the 400 block of Northgate Parkway Nov. 9.
• Vandals wrote graffiti on the 200 block of Seventh Street Nov. 12.
