Cantigny brunch is back

Sunday brunch has returned to Cantigny for the holidays. Beginning Nov. 29 and running through Dec. 20, brunch will be served at Le Jardin, adjacent to the visitors' center. Try traditional breakfast fares or delicious extras such as crab legs and drawn butter, chef-carved strip loin, baked ham and an array of desserts. Brunch runs from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and costs $23.95 for adults, $21.95 for seniors, and $12.95 for children 5 to 12.

Free happy hour appetizers

Stop by Gibsons Steakhouse for a drink in the bar and enjoy free appetizers from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appetizers include filet sliders, barbecued shrimp, house-made pigs in a blanket and pizza.

Beer school

If only all school was as scintillating as the Beer School at Duke's Alehouse. Learn the ins and outs of holiday beers for $35 at this month's Beer 101 School. Featured beers include: Sammichlaus, a brown ale; Very Bad Elf, a pale ale; and Yellow Snow, a rogue ale. Reservations required. The cost includes appetizers and three-ounce beer samples.
