Schaumburg Twp. offers ride service

Don't worry about getting to your medical appointment again!

Senior citizens and people with disabilities residents of Schaumburg, Elk Grove, Hanover, Palatine or Wheeling Townships can use TRIP - Township Riders Initiative Pilot, a transportation service that will take you across Township lines to medical appointments. Service hours are 5 a.m.-9 p.m. Monday-Friday and Saturday hours are available.

TRIP will also take you to Stroger Cook County Hospital, Hines Veterans Hospital and the Veterans Health Administration -Elgin Clinic on Tuesday and Fridays only. One service animal, caregiver or attendant may accompany the rider.

The cost for one way is $5 per township line crossed during a single trip with a maximum of $10 per one way; maximum of $20 round trip. Residents must be 60 years and older or persons with disabilities over age 18. Registration is required.

All riders must preregister by completing a TRIP registration form and the consent to release information form. Forms are available at Schaumburg Township. Please call The Schaumburg Township Transportation Department at (847) 882-1929 for reservations. Reservations must be made three to 14 days in advance.

Schaumburg Township provides human care services in the areas of mental health, disabled services, senior services, youth services and welfare services. The Township also provides a myriad other services including, but not limited to, disabled parking cards, notary public service, information on tax assessment and property, and general information and referral.
