Scouting report First-time head coach Montgomery, a 1993 Hinsdale Central graduate, is the third Red Devils coach in a year. The constant is Stanford recruit and returning Daily Herald All-Area captain Kokenis, who averaged 17.9 points and 5 assists a game last year and is one of the state's elite point guards. "A great leader on the court," Montgomery said, "and knows the game like no other. It's really refreshing as a first-year coach for her to be out there." Ekechukwu, a year older and stronger, will be counted on to add more scoring to go with rebounding and defense. Steinborn is a physical guard who can shoot, and Brennan adds a nice 3-point shot. Montgomery expects to break away slightly from the methodical trademark of recent Red Devils teams. "Not anything crazy," she said, "but we're looking to fast break a little more. We play a good halfcourt man (defense). We're focusing on what we do when we create those turnovers."
