Glenbard West Hilltoppers

Coach Mike Hofland

Last year 19-10 overall, third in the West Suburban Silver; lost to Glenbard East 55-50 in Class 4A Lake Park regional semifinals.

Top players Nicole Hazemi, sr., F; Abigail Hastings, sr., F; Cayla Herbst, jr., F; Abbey White, sr., G; Lexi Crovatto, sr., G; Bridget Flanigan, jr., G.

Scouting report No shortage of post players in Glen Ellyn these days. Southern Indiana commit Hazemi, who averaged 11.1 points per game as a sophomore, returns after a year at Trinity. "She's a true back-to-the-basket post player," Hofland said. Hastings brings a strong all-around game, while shot-blocking junior Herbst has drawn interest from the likes of Wisconsin-Green Bay and UIC after a big summer in AAU. "Her confidence has soared," Hofland said. White keys the offense from the backcourt. Hofland is high on this team's chemistry. That could translate into a marked improvement closing out tight games. "One thing we lacked last year was mental toughness," he said. "This year our phrase is 'accepting the challenge.' The biggest challenge is mental toughness."
