Last year 11-15, 5-7, tied for fifth in the West Suburban Silver; lost 64-45 to Brother Rice in the Class 4A Brother Rice regional quarterfinals.

Scouting report Seven times last year the Trojans scored 40 points or fewer, and still they found themselves competitive just about every night. This deeper, quicker and more-skilled junior-laden group should be much more potent offensively. LeBeau, Benton, Johnson and Wengren each improved their shooting from last year while the 6-foot-4 duo of Mason and Cieniawa should bring an added scoring presence to the post. A year older and more aggressive, expect more trips to the free-throw line. The program received an added off-season boost with the return of Eric Jagielo, committed to play baseball at Notre Dame, after a year away. "We've got a lot of young kids, and if we can mature quickly we'll be in good shape," Thomas said.
