Mt. Prospect Relay for Life panel needs new members
The Mount Prospect/Prospect Heights Relay for Life is looking for individuals to serve on its planning committee for this coming year's event, to be held at Prospect High School on May 21-22, 2010.
Relay for Life is the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, and involves teams of 10-15 individuals walking laps around the Prospect track from 6 p.m. Friday, May 21, to 6 a.m. Saturday, May 22, raising money for cancer research, to support those who have survived cancer and to remember those who have lost their battle with cancer.
The next committee meeting will be held Thursday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. in the Prospect High School library, 801 W. Kensington Road, in Mount Prospect. Committee members help plan the structure of the event, recruit sponsors and participants, and plan the entertainment and the various ceremonies.
