Sugar Grove Library Friends hosts Holiday Designer Showcase

The Sugar Grove Library Friends invites the public to participate in a fundraiser at the library, 125 Municipal Drive in Sugar Grove. The Holiday Designer Showcase will feature the 25,000 square feet of the library decorated with numerous holiday vignettes by professional designers Lynn Brandys, Barb Hollmier and Rose Giliberto. All displayed items will be available for purchase during the event.

A Preview Gala will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13. This ticketed event will feature a wine and cheese tasting by Fox Valley Winery, desserts by The Catering Gourmets, music by Melissa Konow and the opportunity for first selection of the designer holiday floral arrangements, ornaments and accessories that are for sale. Swoozie's of Oak Brook Terrace also will also offer specialty wrapping papers for purchase.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14 admission will be free and two design demonstrations are planned. Swoozie's will demonstrate creative gift-wrapping at 11 a.m. and Barb Hollmier will give instructions on creating an outdoor holiday greenery arrangement at 1 p.m. The Book Nook Cafe will be open for breakfast, lunch, desserts, coffee and specialty beverages.

Tickets for the Friday evening Preview Gala are available at the Sugar Grove Library in the Library Friends Used Book Store. Tickets also can be purchased by visiting sglibraryevent.com. Ticket prices are $15 for one or $20 for two. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.
