Learn about St. Charles veterans at library lecture

The St. Charles Heritage Center, in conjunction with the St. Charles Public Library, will present the fourth installment of the Thursday Evening Lecture Series on Nov. 12. The program will be held at 7 p.m. in the Carnegie Room at the St. Charles Public Library, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

The topic for this presentation will be "St. Charles Veterans," presented by St. Charles Heritage Center board member and St. Charles resident Kevin Gaffney. Gaffney will discuss many personal stories shared by local veterans as well as images, both of which are featured in his new book and DVD on St. Charles veterans which will be available for purchase in December at the St. Charles Heritage Center. The St. Charles Heritage Center operates the St. Charles History Museum and Gift Shop at 215 E. Main. The museum and gift shop are open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
