Cardinals' Lutui not upset with Harris

Tommie Harris' right-handed punch, not surprisingly, didn't faze Deuce Lutui.

Lutui, after all, is listed at 6-foot-4, 338 pounds. Reportedly, the Arizona Cardinals' fourth-year right guard weighed 370 pounds when he played for Southern Cal, making him the university's heaviest football player of all-time.

Lutui's helmet seemed to absorb most of Harris' haymaker.

"It was nothing serious," Lutui said.

Harris' action was serious enough for him to be ejected four snaps into the Bears' 41-21 loss Sunday at Soldier Field. Referee Ed Hochuli said the Bears' defensive tackle "slugged" Lutui "in the head."

Lutui, who was on the ground when Harris swung, wasn't quite sure what happened or what caused Harris' rage.

"It happened real quick," Lutui said. "It was just unfortunate he had to be (ejected) from the game. He's a real competitive athlete and he looks real good on film. Things like that happen. Sometimes you lose your composure."

Harris was not available to reporters in the Bears' locker room after the game.

Lutui didn't seem angry with Harris.

"It was a run play (a 13-yard gain by Tim Hightower) and we just got tangled up," Lutui said. "Stuff like that happens all the time. Sometimes it doesn't get caught. It's trench work. That's what happens in the trenches."

A 15-yard penalty came with Harris' disqualification.

Things never got better for the Bears' defense, which gave up 31 first-half points and saw Arizona score on its first six possessions.

"I was disappointed to see Tommie go out," Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald said. "He's one of my closest friends in the league and he's a fierce competitor. I'm just sorry it had to go that way. It definitely helped us not having him out there."
