For reform, remove corporate interests
Great letter, Paul Sjordal (Fence Post, Nov. 23). Thank you for pointing out that with meaningful campaign finance reform, it wouldn't matter which party controlled the state government at any given time.
Hey, maybe Democrats and Republicans could actually work together for the betterment of the citizens of Illinois, instead of the betterment of their own parties and their own pockets. The state of Illinois is the poster child for campaign finance reform.
If you take the corporate interests out of government (federal, state and local), you'll get meaningful tax reform, education reform, health reform and energy/environment reform in return. All reforms necessary for a vibrant, functioning community, state and nation start with campaign finance reforms.
