Argument for pot legalization nuts

Froma Harrop's column recent Sunday column made me laugh. Never heard anyone make the case that we need to legalize marijuana to save our parks.

It's an environmental crisis, streams are being dammed up? What are the actual facts and numbers behind your suggested epidemic of swarming pot growth on public land? How many tourists are affected? What evidence do you have that pot does not cause serious health issues? You should change the headline to: "My anecdotal facts on why we should legalize marijuana."

One question for you: Why?

Why should we legalize? What good will it actually do? I think of Ricky Williams, the running back for Miami. Marijuana nearly ruined his career, but for sure will prevent him from having a hall of fame career. By the way, Jeff Miron is for legalizing heroin and cocaine for some of the same reasons you stated above. What say you? Cleaner, less dangerous parks, thanks for making me laugh.
