'Howling Good Time' offered

Theatre to stage Disney musical
Christian Youth Theater presents Disney's "High School Musical "from Thursday, Oct. 29 to Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Huntley High School Performing Arts Center, 13719 Harmony Road, Huntley. This romp through East High will be performed at 9:30 and 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, and Tuesday, Nov. 3; 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 and Nov. 6; 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 and Nov. 7; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1 and Nov. 8. One-session piano class for busy people
"Instant Piano for Hopelessly Busy People" will be offered from 6 to 9:30 Thursday, Oct. 29, Elgin Community College, 1700 Spartan Drive. This is a beginning class in chord piano where in one session students will learn all the chords needed to play any pop song, any style, any key, reading chord symbols, not notes. Church to host fish boil, rib fest
On Sunday, Nov. 1, Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 401 W. Main St., West Dundee, will host its annual Fish Boil and Rib Fest. The cost is $17 for fish only; $18 for fish and ribs; or $10 for children 12 and younger. Tickets can be purchased through any outreach member or by calling the church office at (847) 426-7133 and speak to Jan from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Also there will be a silent auction.
Barbecue dinner offered at St. John's
Join St. John's Lutheran School, 109 N. Spring St., Elgin, for a Fay's BBQ Pork Chop and Chicken dinner fundraiser. This event will be held from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 2. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $12 or in advance by calling the school at (847) 741-7633. Diners can choose to dine-in or carryout. This fundraiser will support the school's ongoing efforts to modernize classrooms with the purchase of SMART Boards. The boards let teachers and students share assignments, surf the Web and even edit video using their fingers as pens. Everyone is welcome.

St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 43W301 Plank Road, Hampshire, is now a host site for Angel Food Ministries. The ministry is dedicated to providing food relief to communities throughout the U.S. helping to feed more than 500,000 families a month. For $30, a "Signature" food box can be purchased which includes five to six frozen meats, fresh and frozen vegetables, pasta, eggs, and dessert valued at approximately $60. A Signature box feeds a family of four for $4.30 a day for one week or can feed a senior for about a month. Each month's menu is different. In addition, it offers a senior/convenience meal box, an allergen-free food box and several specialty boxes at varying prices offering items such as steaks, chicken, pork, fresh fruits and vegetables. Orders are now being taken for a Thanksgiving box that provides a complete meal for eight people for $36. Delivery will be Thursday, Nov. 19.
