The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned center Jake Dowell to the American Hockey League's Rockford IceHogs.

Dowell, 24, was held scoreless in 7:26 of action on Saturday in the Blackhawks' 2-0 win over the Nashville Predators during his season debut with the club.

Chicago's 10th choice (140th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Dowell has appeared in 21 regular-season games with the Blackhawks over the past three seasons (2007-09), posting three points and 12 penalty minutes.

The Eau Claire, Wis., native leads Rockford with six assists and ranks second with seven points in eight games this season.
