Let cops write the tickets

I am very agitated by the red light photo enforced cameras that are installed on streetlights at intersections. They were first meant to be put up only in busy intersections that have a lot of accidents to see if the accident rate could be reduced.

In actuality, the only thing those cameras have given the people are hefty fines. Those cameras should be taken down because they are not even helping out the police. The cameras are not stopping drunk drivers or speeders, but ticketing people who are a little too far over the white line at a stop light.

The thing that puzzles my mind the most is the fact that those cameras are not even put up by the police, but by a privately owned corporation. They should not have the right to ticket the people of our community. Giving tickets should be the job of the police officers and the police officers only.
