St. Charles
• Eric Carl Eberle, 33, of the 1000 block of Geneva Drive in Geneva, was charged Oct. 16 with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Target, 3885 E. Main St., observed Eberle, an employee of the store, start his shift by purchasing several small electronic items. Eberle then would keep the items in a bag near the electronics department cash register. Later, Eberle took several more items and placed them into the bag without paying for them. During his lunch break, Eberle then left the store with the items. When confronted by store security, Eberle confessed to stealing other items in the past and not getting caught. Store security calculated the total loss from Eberle's actions to be about $435. Eberle's confession to previous thefts totaled about $1,938.
• Jamel Wesley Colvin, 21, of the 300 block of Hemlock Lane in West Chicago, and Michael Van Nguyen, 18, of the 1100 block of Pearl Street in Belvidere, were charged Saturday with retail theft, according to a police report. Police responded to Walmart, 150 Smith Road, after store security said it had one person in custody while another person fled on foot in a retail theft incident. Store security observed Colvin and Van Nguyen looking at a sales display in the automotive department. Van Nguyen then selected an item from a shelf and place it in his waistband while Colvin turned up the volume on the car stereo's display to conceal their actions. Colvin and Van Nguyen then left the store without paying for the merchandise. When confronted by store security, Colvin cooperated while Van Nguyen pushed the security officer and ran. Colvin then provided police with contact information for Van Nguyen, who eventually turned himself in. He was also charged with battery.
Batavia
• Michael H. Woelfle, 30, of Carrollton, Texas, was charged with possession of a controlled substance (more than 15, but fewer than 100, grams of cocaine), possession of drug paraphernalia, and arrested on an out-of-state warrant for being a fugitive from justice, at 12:22 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Main Street, police said.
• A 21-speed mountain bicycle was stolen in the 300 block of Van Nortwick Street, it was reported at 1:10 p.m. Saturday.
• Coins and sunglasses were stolen out of two sport utility vehicles at a home in the 900 block of Lockwood Lane, it was reported at 4:07 p.m. Oct. 16, police said.
• Ten CDs and a CD player were stolen out of a vehicle in the 100 block of South River Street, it was reported at 3:01 p.m. Oct. 16, police said.
• Two tires and two rims were stolen off a vehicle in the lot at Batavia Auto Sales, 1025 N. Washington St., it was reported at 12:25 p.m. Oct. 15, police said.
• Shardai R. Banks, 23, of the 15500 block of Honore Avenue, Harvey, was charged with two felony counts of forgery, one felony count of possession of fraudulent identification and one count of misdemeanor deceptive practices, police said, at 10:49 p.m. Oct. 15 at Kohl's, 251 N. Randall Road. She was also wanted on a warrant out of Champaign County for failure to appear in court on a burglary charge, and in Will County on a failure to appear on a forgery charge.
• Someone wrote graffiti on an exterior door of an apartment building in the 1100 block of East Wilson Street, it was reported at 11:04 a.m. Oct. 14, police said.
• Derrimus D. Simmons, 21, of the 1400 block of Jericho Circle, Aurora, was charged with obstructing a peace officer, resisting a peace officer and possession of cannabis, at 8:07 p.m. Oct. 14, police said.
• Ronald D. Johnston, 68, of the 1300 block of Violet Lane, was charged with retail theft Oct. 13, according to a police report. He is accused of putting a lower-price tag on an item at Menards, 300 N. Randall Road, which resulted in his paying $23.07 less for the item.
North Aurora
• Rodney Moore, 47, of the 500 block of Howard Avenue, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a suspended or revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia at 12:40 a.m. Oct. 11, according to a police report.
Geneva
• Editor's note: Authorities amended the charges to reckless driving. Sarah E. Klus, 35, of the 200 block of South Fifth Avenue, St. Charles, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after a crash at 8:25 a.m. Oct. 9, according to a police report. Klus lost consciousness while driving east on Division Street, crossed into the westbound lane, hit a mailbox, then a car parked in a driveway, then a wood fence near Patricia Lane. She was also charged with improper lane use.
