Elgin
• Two, 10-week old kittens, one a black and orange male and the other a white female, were stolen between 4:30 and 5:15 p.m. from a front porch in the 0-99 block of Tuileries Place, reports said. The owner said she left the kittens in a carrier before going to the store and it was gone when she came back, reports said.
• A man reported to police on Thursday that he was attacked by four men, three of whom had shaved heads, at about 11:20 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of Douglas Avenue, reports said. They punched him and stole $80 from him, but he fought off the attackers with a bottle and ran to a nearby gas station, reports said. He suffered a broken nose, reports said.
• Aneesa McInnis, 17, of the 0-99 block of Park Row, Elgin, and Michelle R. Reynolds, 17, of the 300 block of Liberty Street, Elgin, were arrested and charged with retail theft of $18 worth of groceries at 7:39 p.m. Thursday at Butera, 3 Clock Tower Plaza, reports said. McInnis also was charged with attempted obstruction of justice. Both are due in court Nov. 13 at the Elgin Branch Court.
• An in-dash DVD player, iPod nano, and 30-inch plasma screen TV, a total value of $610, were stolen between 2:40 and 3:15 p.m. Thursday from 1999 GMC Yukon after someone broke its front passenger side window, reports said.
• Marcelino Loera, 51, of the 1600 block of Buckingham Avenue, Westchester, was arrested and charged with trespassing at 11:29 p.m. Thursday at the Grand Victoria Casino, 250 S. Grove Ave., reports said. Loera is on the banned list, reports said.

• Someone on Thursday spray painted a smiley face on the bike path in the 5400 block of Whitmore Way, police said.
