Des Plaines Park District seeks volunteers
The Des Plaines Park District is looking for volunteer mentors for their new Youth Mentor Program.
Volunteers should be at least 18 years of age and be interested in making a positive connection to and contribution to the life of a child, grades 4-8, in a one-on-one and large-group setting.
The program provides social, educational, and mentoring opportunities to enhance positive social behaviors, academic performance, and community connections.
The goal is to help children maximize their personal potential, build self esteem, and make positive life choices. All mentor activities and meetings are at the Leisure Center, 2222 Birch St. on Wednesdays, 4-6 p.m.
