Wood Dale cops snare suspected drug dealer
A 30-year-old Wood Dale man has been charged with dealing marijuana and ecstasy out of his rented house.
Erol V. Abdiu was arrested early Thursday morning by Wood Dale police who were serving a search warrant following months of investigation into the man's activities.
Officers located more than five pounds of marijuana and 500 ecstasy pills during a search of the house in the 300 block of Elmwood Avenue. Police officials said the combined street value of the drugs is in excess of $50,000.
Police said they don't believe Abdiu was conducting street sales in Wood Dale.
Abdiu has been charged with unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and unlawful delivery of cannabis. He could face up to 40 years in prison if convicted and given a maximum sentence. He also faces up to $250,000 in fines. Abdiu has no previous arrests in DuPage County.
He is being held at the DuPage County jail in Wheaton in lieu of a $1 million bond.
