Roskam should quit his health plan
Recently, U.S. Rep. Peter Roskam called for scrapping and starting over on Mr. Obama's health care reform. As a close friend of "You Lie!" Joe Wilson, (the two sat next to one another during the president's recent address), it's clear to anyone who watches, that Roskam will not support any proposal that is put forth by the Democratically controlled House of Representatives.
If Roskam is serious about saving us from the evils of "government-run health care" as he calls it, then he should do the following: First, he should refuse the health plan offered to himself and his family as a member of Congress, (the plan for house members is government run) and he should also introduce bills to repeal Medicare, Medicaid and the Veterans Affairs, all of which are examples of "government-run health care".
If he doesn't, then he's not being intellectually honest with himself or with us. In fact, by rejecting the efforts of the president on the grounds that it's "government run" and at the same time, not trying to stop the programs already in place, he's hypocritical and has turned out to be just what we thought: a rubber stamp for the floundering Republican Party.
