Prospect High hosts Halloween alternative for kids

Prospect High School's Student Council, with the help of clubs and sports teams, will sponsor "Haunted High School 2009," a safe Halloween alternative event for young children, on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 4-6 p.m. The event will be held at PHS, located at 801 W. Kensington Rd. in MountProspect, and is open to area kids, preschool/kindergarten through 5th grade. Enter through the building's door #22.

Participants should arrive in costume and be ready to collect candy, play fun games, and join in such activities as the Monster Mash dance, face-painting, the pumpkin shot, temporary tattoos, Halloween story-telling, "boo"sical chairs, and more. Attendees must be accompanied by parents. Admission is free, but organizers encourage donations of canned food for the local food pantry.
