Hinsdale Central wins in 2 OT

On a 2-point conversion run by quarterback John Whitelaw in the second overtime session, Hinsdale Central (4-2, 2-1) won Saturday's West Suburban Silver contest 46-45 in Oak Park.

Oak Park (2-4, 1-3) had forced overtime on Jack Rogalla's 35-yard touchdown pass to Zach Draus that made the score 31-31 with 2:28 left in the fourth quarter.

Whitelaw drew first blood in overtime on a 10-yard run, and Rogalla answered with a 10-yard pass to Darnell Lee. Oak Park led 45-38 in the second overtime on Tony Stapleton's 1-yard run and the extra-point kick by Nic Poilevy. Oak Park stopped Whitelaw for no gain on the Red Devils' first play, then David Lutz's 9-yard run set up Jake Knowles' 1-yard plunge to tie at 45-45.

Whitelaw ran for 165 yards and 3 touchdowns, and completed 9 of 13 passes for 138 yards, 2 interceptions and a touchdown to John Skokna.

Oak Park's Rogalla completed 13 of 22 passes for 189 yards and 2 touchdowns, and also ran for 2 touchdowns. Stapleton led the Huskies with 121 yards rushing on 28 carries with 2 touchdowns.
