Outlook The North Stars have dominated this series of late. Streamwood defeated St. Charles North 14-12 in 2001, the year the North Stars joined the Upstate Eight. However, St. Charles North has won the last 7 meetings, including the last 3 games by scores of 44-7 (2006), 34-7 (2007) and 54-0 (2008). St. Charles North's defense held Larkin's Jalen Williams to 53 yards rushing last week, the first time Williams has been held under 100 yards rushing this season. That presents a challenge for the Sabres, who have been competitive for a quarter or two against some of the Upstate Eight's best teams before fading. Last week the Sabres trailed Bartlett 14-7 at halftime only to be outscored 24-7 in the second half. "In the first half last week, we were playing some good football and had some things go our way but again we just couldn't sustain it," Streamwood coach Cal Cummins said. "People just wear us down it seems like. We just have to keep on fighting and, hopefully, get a little bit deeper into the game." Junior Nick Pryor, the Sabres' third-string quarterback pressed into action two weeks ago due to injuries, acquitted himself well in his first start. Pryor completed 9-of-12 passes for 116 yards and was intercepted once. "Considering it was just handed to him and it's not his primary position, you can't be too unhappy with that," Cummins said. "Hopefully, he can build on that and do a little bit better this week." Senior Wayne Holloway leads Streamwood with 214 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns on 39 carries and Derrick King has rushed 43 times for 151 yards and 2 touchdowns. St. Charles North running back Jordan Huxtable returned from an ankle injury last week, but will miss the next two games due to school disciplinary reasons. Last week juniors Ben Hodges and Dirk Schmitt ran for 100 and 28 yards, respectively. Hodges scored 2 touchdowns on runs of 2 and 9 yards.
