Where's our sense of morality?

Our supposedly democratic country - with the highest percentage of Christians among Western industrialized nations - is the only one of those nations where 18,000 people die each year because they can't afford health care.

Almost one million Americans go broke each year because they get sick. Do we as individuals and as a nation have no conscience or sense of fairness and morality?
