Cutler all smiles after win

Quarterback Jay Cutler was in such a good mood after Sunday's 25-19 victory that he could have been mistaken for a stand-up comedian.

He wasn't as jovial after his first TD pass near the end of the first half when he thought Seahawks safety Deon Grant should have been called for roughing the passer after he slammed the Bears' QB to the turf just after he released the ball.

Cutler got in an official's face but was quickly led away by center Olin Kreutz. Finally, after the game-winning TD toss to Devin Hester, the Seahawks Patrick Kerney was flagged for roughing Cutler, which pleased him.

Asked about it, Cutler laughed and said, "I finally got one. I'm going to be yelling for them all game. Whether it is or whether it isn't, I'm going to be yelling."

The rough treatment plus a pair of sacks didn't prevent Cutler from completing 21 of 27 passes for 247 yards, 3 touchdowns with 1 interception and a passer rating of 126.4, his best as a Bear.

Cutler also lost a fumble when Seahawks linebacker tipped the ball out of his hand as he cocked his arm, and he was penalized 15 yards for a crack-back block on Seattle defensive end Daryl Tapp on a reverse to Devin Hester.

"I've got to see it on film," Cutler said with a smirk. "I honestly got called for that, so we'll check it out."

The Bears got off to a sluggish start, which Cutler blamed partly on the rabid Qwest Field crowd, one of the loudest in the NFL. But he led the offense to the winning score with the game on the line, and offensive coordinator Ron Turner is impressed with his calm leadership at crunch time.

"His demeanor in the huddle - and obviously I'm not in there - but to hear the other guys talk about how cool he his, and how much in control he is and how confident he is, that definitely is a huge factor," Turner said.

Cutler has 5 TD passes and just 1 pick in his last two games after the 4-pick fiasco in Green Bay. Both of the victories were of the come-from-behind variety, and Cutler was instrumental in both.

"You judge good quarterbacks based on what they can do late in the game," coach Lovie Smith said. "Jay wants the ball in his hands, he had a good look about him, knowing that we had to go down and score. We all had confidence that he would lead us."

Cutler wants the chance to win the game when it gets late."I pride myself in that," he said. "I want the ball in those situations. The fourth quarter is when we've got to play our best, and I think we are right now."
