Test health care reform on one state?
I was surprised to learn that the health care bill being worked on now won't even go into effect until after the next presidential election. So why the rush? The lack of transparency?
And what a perfect opportunity to make passage of the bill contingent on cost savings generated between now and three to four years from now. Unfortunately, we will see President Obama running for re-election, bragging about the passage of health care reform before it has even had a change to demonstrate whether it was a success or failure due to the long delay from passage to implementation.
Too bad they can't test the final health care bill on one state before rolling it out to all 50. But then again, who would want to volunteer their state for such a trial?
