Scouting: Hersey @ Rolling Meadows

MID-SUBURBAN EAST

Hersey (0-4) at Rolling Meadows (2-2)

When 7:30 p.m. today at Robert A. Hoese Athletic Field

Last week Hersey lost to Palatine 35-14; Meadows lost to Fremd 21-20

Outlook Meadows looks to rebound from a tough loss where it never trailed until the final two minutes and just missed what would have been impressive back-to-back wins at Barrington and Fremd. "We have no choice, we're sitting at 2-2 so we have to come back," said Meadows coach Doug Millsaps. "Our biggest thing is getting healthy." But the Mustangs' defense, allowing an area-best 209.5 yards a game, continued to impress last week to give QB Jimmy Garoppolo (649 yards, 8 TDs) and top target Tony Taibi (22 rec., 374 yards, 5 TDs) more chances to do damage. "(Erick) Louis-Charles was tremendous," Millsaps said of the senior defensive lineman. Hersey also continued to play tough defense and trailed unbeaten Palatine only 15-8 going into the fourth quarter last week. The Huskies have continued to show signs of offensive improvement as Matt Stewart and Zach Johnson each ran for a TD and combined for 147 yards. Meadows has won four straight in a series Hersey leads 15-9.
