Outlook After Sacred Heart-Griffin and St. Francis, Montini is now 0-2 against defending state champions. How will they fare against runners-up in this Suburban Christian Conference crossover? It depends if the Broncos are able to stop the run. St. Francis rang up 374 yards on the ground against Montini, which nearly came all the way back from a 35-7 deficit before St. Francis caught its second wind. The good news for Montini was Brandon Pechloff regrouped from 3 interceptions to throw 4 touchdown passes, including 2 to Jordan Westerkamp and an amazing catch-and-run by Nick Campanella, who also ran for 111 yards. Aurora Christian, defending Class 3A runner-up, may not have St. Francis' size and numbers on the line and in the backfield, but the Eagles definitely have the speed. Quarterback Grayson Roberts has thrown for 654 yards, 10 interceptions. Johnny Magee has run for 220 and 234 yards the last two weeks. In Week 3 his twin brother, Sheldon, caught 9 passes for 250 yards. "They're an explosive team," Montini coach Chris Andriano said. "They can score at any time, really."
Next week Marian Central at Montini; Immaculate Conception at Aurora Christian.
