St. Charles
• Holly Hope Feher, 27, of the 3200 block of Old Castle Road in Joliet, was charged Sept. 8 with theft, according to a police report. Store security at Walmart, 150 Smith Road, observed Feher conceal several cosmetic items and a black shirt in her purse and exit the store without paying for them. Store security found Feher in possession of 11 items with a total value of about $77 that she had not paid for.
• Timothy C. Watson, 19, of the 500 block of Fadia Street in Maple Park, was charged Sept. 8 with retail theft, according to a police report. Store security at Meijer, 855 S. Randall Road, observed Watson place two bottles of vodka in his pants and exit the store without paying for them.
• Cassandra Rose Witzke, 17, of the 1200 block of Elizabeth Street in West Chicago, was charged Aug. 23 with retail theft, according to a police report, Store security at Von Maur, 3810 E. Main St., observed Witzke entering a dressing room with another person and many clothing items. The pair then exited the dressing room with noticeably fewer items and left the store. Security brought Witzke and the other person back to the store and found them in possession of four shirts they had not paid for. Witzke was booked at the police station. The other person was released to her mother.
South Elgin
• Someone used a key to scratch a car in the 300 block of Woodridge Circle between 4 a.m. Sept. 4 and 12:58 p.m. Sept. 5, causing an estimated $2,500 damage, according to police.
North Aurora
• Jarvis D. Hughes, 25, of the 1500 block of Brighton Circle, Aurora, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, criminal damage to state-supported property, resisting a peace officer, speeding, failure to obey a traffic-control signal, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to yield to and emergency vehicle, and failure to signal, at 4:29 a.m. Sept. 13 at Exposition Drive and Sullivan Road, according to a police report.
• Jolly Jay Mitchell, 24, of the 500 block of Ashland Avenue, Aurora, was charged Sept. 11 with obstruction of justice and obstructing a peace officer, according to a police report. He was arrested at a bar in the 900 block of West Oak Street. He is being held in the Kane County jail on $25,000 bail. Mitchell was paroled June 26 by the Illinois Department of Corrections on a conviction of possession of a controlled substance.
• Brittany Turner, 19, of the 1300 block of Monomoy Street, Aurora, and Brittney Yvette Showers, 19, of the 100 block of Pine Hill Drive, were charged Sept. 10 with retail theft, according to a police report. They are accused of taking $276 worth of groceries from Woodman's Market, 151 Hansen Blvd.
• Isiah Mikhail Anderson, 21, of the 400 block of South State Street, Aurora, was charged with obstructing a peace officer at 1:30 a.m. Sept. 5 at or near a bar in the 900 block of West Oak Street, according to a police report.
• Duwan Darnell Balfour, 31, of the 1100 block of Bonner Avenue, Aurora, was charged with unlawful use of a weapon for having a handgun with a silencer, at 12:21 a.m. Sept. 5 in his car in the parking lot of a bar in the 900 block of West Oak Street, according to a police report.
• Derrick Lasean Smith, 20, of the 1700 block of Lilac Court, Aurora, was charged Sept. 5 with unlawful use of an identification card at a bar in the 900 block of West Oak Street, according to a police report.
Batavia
• A burglar broke a window on a vehicle and stole its Panasonic stereo, it was reported at 9:21 a.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle, police said.
• A burglar took Nextel telephones and chargers out of two vehicles, as well as several pairs of black gloves, a dark-colored rain coat and a car stereo, from a vehicle in a business lot in the 1200 block of South River Street. It happened between 6 p.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, police said.
• A Kenwood stereo, a remote for the stereo and two pairs of sunglasses were stolen out of a vehicle in the 900 block of Lorlyn Circle, it was reported at 10:33 a.m. Wednesday. The burglar broke a window, police said.
• A Panasonic car stereo was stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 900 block of Lorlyn Circle, it was reported at 12:42 p.m. Wednesday, police said.
• A TransDock FM transmitter for an iPod, an iPod Mini, a backpack containing college textbooks and a TI-84 Texas Instruments graphing calculator were stolen out of a vehicle in the 1000 block of Lorlyn Circle, it was reported at 12:54 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.
