Line straddlers are true heroes
Regarding your editorial Aug. 22, 2009, "Please don't do this," about merging traffic: We can all relate to the guy straddling the center line so nobody can sneak in. He is the hero, preventing the selfish drivers from cutting in front of you while you have waited in line for your turn to get through the construction zone. The mirror that should have been torn off is the one on the car trying to sneak around and cut in the line in front of everyone already waiting. I will always try to block someone trying to take advantage of a situation like this. It is just common courtesy of which there is very little left. The person cutting in is not trying to make a safe merge, just trying to get ahead of the line so he can be eating his dinner while I am still waiting in line.
