Change to system isn't necessary

I have found myself questioning the need for any change to the system. The main reason for this is that the major assumption being used by the Obama administration is that costs will continue to go up if nothing is done.

Why does everyone accept this as fact?

At some point the rising costs will stop because the costs will reach a point when no one will be able to afford to pay for medical care. Long before that happens, excess costs will be squeezed out of the system and charges for care will drop. Supply will out strip demand. This is basic economics.

So the major assumption in the argument for changing the current system is incorrect.

Fear is being used to convince us of the need for change I also have wondered if any changes made in the system will result in offsets to my property tax, sales tax, and state and federal income taxes. Part of those taxes currently fund health care for the uninsured.

The Cook County Illinois Public Health Department had fiscal year 2008 appropriations of $8.234 Billion. How is this money spent? Most goes for services for the uninsured.

No we do not need more taxes to fix a problem that does not exist. Has anyone seen the uninsured at the town halls in great numbers begging for changes to the system? If the situation is that bad we would see more than just the unions out supporting the administration.

I don't understand the unions, what will happen when the private insurance companies are run out of business and they are then forced into the public plan? Do the members off Congress understand that if the private companies are gone, they will become part of the public plan whether they exclude themselves or not? No insurance companies will exist if there is a government plan. Wise up America.
