Scouting: Woodstock @ Huntley

Woodstock (1-2) at Huntley (3-0)

When: today at 7:15 p.m. at Harmony Road Campus

Last met in 2007: Woodstock 14, Huntley 0

Last week: Huntley 47, Woodstock North 7; Cary-Grove 60, Woodstock 6

Outlook: After a year off, Huntley and Woodstock rekindle the Ill. Rt. 47 rivalry. The teams have met five times since Huntley joined the Fox Valley Conference in 2003. The Blue Streaks own a 3-2 advantage in those games. Woodstock surprised Cary-Grove early in last week's game when quarterback Logan Kunzie completed a 77-yard bomb to Scott Rausch to put the Streaks ahead 6-0 in an eventual blowout loss. That type of scoring threat gives Huntley coach Steve Graves pause. "We've given up 5 deep passes this year already and that's their specialty, so we're scared to death," he said. "We don't match up very well with them, so that's a great concern of ours." Huntley, ranked No. 10 in The Associated Press Class 7A poll this week, will attack offensively with senior running back Brett Kleckner. He leads the Red Raiders with 215 yards and 4 rushing touchdowns on 31 carries (6.9 avg.). Woodstock can pass or run the ball without substituting, which presents problems for opposing defensive coordinators. "You can't look for one player to come on and off the field so you can get your packages on," Graves said. "So the people you have on the field have to play both the run and the pass." Nick Davila scored on a kickoff return for a touchdown last week, his third of the season.
