Would Dems not let a Republican speak?
I have never been so shocked by behavior of the public institutions with which I am associated as I was to learn of the decision of Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 officials to prevent schoolchildren from hearing the president's address, aimed specifically at them.
What an inspiring address it was. How good for children to hear that the president of our nation felt like a misfit? That his mother was too poor to send him to private school? That he was sad and lonely for his missing father? Things many of our DuPage children could identify with.
And the inspiration of knowing that despite all this one can become the President. The inspiration of this talk was great, and much needed by our children, who often lack motivation of this sort.
I have to assume that the administrators were bowing to public pressure, and if so I am so shocked and ashamed of my fellow DuPage County citizens. I do not believe ever in the history of our county has there been such a degrading act. Have you ever heard of Democrats insisting we not listen to a Republican official speak?
