Scouting: Schaumburg @ Wheeling

Schaumburg (1-2) at Wheeling (2-1)

When 6:30 p.m. today

Last week Schaumburg d. Hersey 30-14; Wheeling lost to Fremd 42-0

Outlook Schaumburg looks to continue rebounding from opening with state powers Maine South and Prospect. "I think we made some strides in terms of our discipline but we still have work to do," said Schaumburg coach Mark Stilling. Warren Brewer bounced back from 3 fumbles against Prospect with 3 TDs and 120 yards on just 8 carries. Nick Nykaza stepped in nicely when Kyle Pollock sprained his ankle in pregame warmups and Kevin Hilliard, Dru Richardson and Josh Marchok improved last week. Wheeling, which won its first two since 1996, looks to rebound from last week behind QB Tyler Brady, Edgar Banuelos and its veteran offensive line. "Brady does a nice job of running the show and seems to understand what they are trying to accomplish," Stilling said. Schaumburg won 30-16 last year and leads the series 10-6.
