Great cops much better than cameras
Congratulations are in order for the Mount Prospect Police Department. It seems that their "Speed Week" program was very successful, with 240 speeding tickets being Issued between Aug. 10 and 16.
And, these tickets were not for anything that could he construed as being "nitpicking" either. Tickets issued were for being an average of 17 mph OVER the posted speed limit!
And, the Mount Prospect Police Department did this without a single red light or speed camera! They used good, old-fashioned hard police work and helped make our village much safer by doing their job in a most professional and efficient way.
Again, congratulations to Chief Dahlberg and the terrific police men and women of our department.
And, we should be very thankful to Mayor Irvana Wilks and the Village board of trustees for their not joining the stampede to install red light or speed cameras as so many other towns and villages have done.
These other local governments should take a lesson from our Mount Prospect Police Department -- you want to reduce speeding or red light violations? Then, ask your police departments, and I am sure that they will do as fine a job as do the Mount Prospect Police Department, to follow the Mount Prospect lead.
By doing this, they too can significantly reduce traffic violations and make their town and villages safer from those people who violate traffic laws.
