Thanks for support with 'green' Hubble

The members of the Wheaton Environmental Improvement Commission would like to commend the members of the Wheaton Warrenville Unit District 200 School Board for their support and pursuit of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) silver certification for the new Hubble Middle School.

Their leadership in this area is important because it serves as an invaluable model of responsibility not only to the students attending the school but also to the wider citizen communities of Wheaton and Warrenville and to the other governmental bodies that serve them.

We look forward to seeing the "green" elements of Hubble in action, and we hope to see the municipalities and park districts of Wheaton and Warrenville and the County of DuPage follow their lead in planning new buildings and renovations with LEED certification in mind.

Ted Witte

chairman, Wheaton Environmental Improvement Commission
