Consider all before changing laws

I agree with Kelan McDonnel's letter of Aug. 29. But he does not include the many others that are part of that "melting pot" of which he speaks.

Some of the Islam faith believe that they can have multiple wives. Some Mormons feel the same. Hindus believe that cows are sacred. There have been movies and books about three people in love and the problems that they have had to face.

Whereas I may not agree or understand those cultures, I do believe that they are part of Kelan's "melting pot" and deserve to be taken as seriously as homosexuals.

Passing a law just preferential to homosexuals only would not be fair. Doing it any differently would be considering these and others as "inferior" to hetero/homosexuality. If laws need to be changed, let us consider all those others who are in love.
