Lakes' Horan fires 68
Vernon Hills invitational: At Vernon Hills Golf Course, Lakes' Abbie Horan fired a sizzling 68, winning by eight strokes over runner-up Taylor Quinn of Barrington.
Vernon Hills' Alyssa Nugent (84) and Lakes' Emma Shutz (85) were fourth and fifth.
Vernon Hills' Sam Neary and Lake Zurich's Lisa Kowieski each had a 93 to tie for 13th.
Barrington won the meet with a 349.
Webb cards ace: Libertyville freshman Paige Webb recorded a hole-in-one on the 100-yard second hold at Libertyville's Riverside course on Wednesday.
She hit a pitching wedge. According to former Wildcats coach Jim Seward, it was just the second ace in the program's history.
