Cutler joins four Bears as team captains this season

A change in quarterbacks in the off season has led to a change in leadership for the Chicago Bears.

The Bears announced Tuesday that Jay Cutler has been selected to a captain for the 2009 season today. The offense will be led by longtime center and Olin Kreutz and Cutler. The defensive captains are linebacker Brian Urlacher and defensive end Adewale Ogunleye. Long snapper Patrick Mannelly, a 13-year veteran, will head the special teams.

The five captains have a combined 47 years of NFL experience and 14 Pro Bowl selections between them.
