Speech demonstrates Obama's leadership

Why is everything that President Obama says or does considered political grist for the mill? Why can't it be considered a demonstration of leadership? I'm referring to the "controversy" regarding his speech to school children.

Anyone who read President Obama's memoir "Dreams of My Father" knows he was not a serious student in his earlier years. Also, try to remember that he is a father of school age children, and I believe he and the first lady would like nothing more than for all children to have the same educational opportunities as their daughters have.

Education, energy independence, health care reform ... the three most important issues facing this nation's future.

Our economy and our national security are tied to all three.

You will be hearing about all three for the next four to eight years. Get used to it, and be thankful that the next generation will be hearing about them, too.
