AARP not in favor of Obama health plan?

I'd just like to point out to your readers that Bob Gallo, state director of the AARP, chose his words very carefully in his Aug. 17 Fence Post letter. He said "the AARP supports the efforts to pass a health care reform package this year."

He did not say that the AARP supports or endorses President Obama's plan. The fact is that the AARP has not endorsed that plan. Perhaps this is because their members see how government-run health care has worked for other nations - nations that were promised (and didn't get) everything we're being promised.

Supporting health care reform is great, but don't let Mr. Gallo's comments fool you into thinking that the AARP supports Obama's plan.
