Turner tries to prepare Cutler for boo-birds

Offensive coordinator Ron Turner has talked to Jay Cutler about the less-than-hospitable reception he's likely to receiver from jilted Broncos fans still bitter about his departure.

Turner said the circus atmosphere would be a distraction only if Cutler allows it to be.

"I didn't talk about the boos or any of that," Turner said. "I talked about that there are going to be a lot of distractions, obviously. I said, 'Jay, you know way better than I do there are going to be distractions all week - today, tomorrow, leading up to it, when you get in there, during the game.'

"But they're only distractions if you let them be. I said, 'Just stay focused on doing your job and preparing the right way, and that'll take care of itself.' I'm sure it's going to be tough, but I think he'll do it."

Waiting it out: The results of nose tackle Dusty Dvoracek's MRI are expected to - at long last - be released today, and good news is not expected.

Still, coach Lovie Smith said the Bears have enough depth at nose tackle to overcome Dvoracek's loss if it turns out he has a torn ACL in his right knee, which would end his season.

"Anthony Adams has played very well throughout. Marcus Harrison has been a good football player for us. Matt Toeaina can play it too, so we're in pretty good shape."

Adams played well last preseason but then was inactive for seven of the first 12 games and played briefly in the other five. But, in the final five games of the season, Adams had 26 tackles, according to Bears statistics, more than any other lineman on the team.

Same page: Quarterback Jay Cutler says there is a simple reason he seems to have clicked so quickly with Greg Olsen, although the tight end missed the first game with a hip injury and caught just 1 pass for 17 yards last week.

"He's a good player," Cutler said. "He gets open a lot, so it's hard not to want to get him the ball and (especially) get him the ball in space. But we have a lot of other guys that have made some plays, too. It's not only me and Greg, but the whole offense."

Injury update: Linebackers Nick Roach (concussion) and Jamar Williams (foot) and defensive end Henry Melton (ankle) did not practice Tuesday and appear doubtful for Sunday's game. Defensive end Alex Brown (hamstring) was also held out of practice but is expected back today. Cornerback Zack Bowman and safety Danieal Manning participated in some team drills and could play against the Broncos.
