New Addison recycling bins:
To help increase participation in its recycling program, Addison and Allied Waste Services will distribute larger recycling bins to houses starting Sept. 14. The new bins are funded in part by a grant from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. The 25-gallon bins will replace smaller bins or recycling bags. Paper and non-paper recyclables can be placed in the same bin; there is no need for sorting. Residents who have a large quantity of recyclables are able to keep their old bin, and place both at the curb on their normal collection day. For a complete list of recyclable items, visit addisonadvantage.org.
