Give government a few days off
Since Mr. Obama has taken office nothing makes sense. He made many promises, which he hasn't kept. He promised to help Main Street but he spent billions bailing out Wall Street. He promised no more government as usual. It is worse than usual. There are still lobbyists and we have paid Czars that only report to the president. Their qualifications don't match the positions assigned. The country is broke and the treasury wants Congress to raise the debt limit.
Billions will be taken from Medicare, which doesn't make sense since the baby boom generation will soon become eligible for coverage. Elected officials call their constituents demeaning names at various town hall meetings. Some of these politicians will vote for the health care package regardless of what the voters want because politicians know what's best for the people.
Millions have lost jobs and can't find work. Shovel ready jobs were only temporary thus far. With these job losses more homes will be in foreclosure. The next shoe to drop is commercial properties. Consumers are not spending like they use to. Businesses can't stay afloat and pay the rent.
Without rent, commercial properties will default on their loans.
Many questions arise and need to be answered by someone. Why didn't the politicians even read the bills they were about to pass? Why are there so many pages to each of the proposed bills? Who is writing these bills? Why the rush to pass all of these bills? How did the smart grid get funding without any discussion or vote? When you are broke, how does spending more money (that you don't have) get you out of debt? How and when will that debt be repaid?
If the government shut down for a few furlough days (like Chicago), will anybody really notice? That idea saves money and politicians don't know how to do that.
