Improv Jam
Stay up late and stop by the Laugh Out Loud Theater in Schaumburg for some comical fun at the "Improv Jam" at 11 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29. Audience members can not only shout out ideas to the onstage performers, but they can choose to step on the stage themselves and take part in the improv show.

Saturday fun in Hainesville
There is fun for all ages at Hainesville Fest. Highlights include pony rides, music from a disc jockey, interactive games, a beer tent, a balloon artist, food, live bands and a chance for an up-close look at vehicles from local emergency agencies.

Buffalo Grove Days
The annual Buffalo Grove Days community celebration features carnival rides, a food tent, a beer garden, entertainment, arts and crafts and a parade. Special events for people with disabilities and their families will be offered.

An estimated 260 artists will display their work in a variety of media at the annual Port Clinton Art Festival. Listen to live music as you stroll through the booths. Food is available for purchase.

The Denim and Diamonds group hosts its Tuesday Night Line Dances, for all ages. Beginner's lessons are offered for those who need some pointers.

Lights on the Lake
The Lights on the Lake festival in Crystal Lake offers family entertainment including children's games, singer/musician Dave Rudolph, the "Magic of Brian Holt" show, the Mellencougar Band, food and beverages. The Aliens on the Lake Boat Parade begins at dusk.
