Who is really un-American?
Recent comments by Nancy Pelosi and Denny Hoyer that the speakers at the town hall meetings were "un American " would indicate their total lack of understanding of the concerns and genuine frustrations the American people have with an administration that has ramrodded one expensive program after another through Congress, and has more waiting in the wings.
These "awful" people are wise enough to see through constant misrepresentation of "facts" coming out of Washington. For example the stimulus bill had to passed immediately to keep the unemployment rate below 8 percent. Of course, it is now close to 10 percent. The president said the other day at one of his first health care town hall meetings that he had never said that he was for a single-payer health care plan. This is simply not true There are least four tape recordings of him saying he is for it.
He also said at the same meeting that the American Association of Retired People is for his plan. This, too, is not true, and the head of the AARP came out the next day and said so. There is a huge dissatisfaction with the idea that the taxpayers are paying for part of their neighbors' new car, through the Cash for Clunkers program.
And there is unbelievable frustration at the continued reckless spending, with seemingly no concern for the huge national debt being run up, One that even our grandchildren wont be able to pay. So, Ms. Peloisi, you are completely wrong about who is un-American. Many of us think it is you and those who would continue to ram through many of these un-American programs.
